The tenth season of Glimmerglass Film Days continues with a virtual film festival, Nov. 18-20. Feature-length films explore the Film Days theme “Connection” and include: After Sherman (Jon-Sesrie Goff, 2022, USA, 88 minutes), Come Back Anytime (John Daschbach, 2021, Japan, 81 minutes), Devil Put the Coal in the Ground (Lucas Sabean, Peter Hutchison, 2022, USA, 80 minutes), Forest for the Trees (Rita Leistner, 2021, Canada, 91 minutes), Hit the Road (Panah Panahi, 2021, Iran, 90 minutes), Hive (Blerta Basholli, 2021, Kosovo, 84 minutes), Living Water (Pavel Borecký, 2022, Czech Republic/Jordan, 77 minutes), The Automat (Lisa Hurwitz, 2021, USA, 79 minutes), The Velvet Queen (Marie Amiguier, Vincent Munier, 2021, France/Tibet, 93 minutes), Vedette (Claudine Bories, Patrice Chagnard, 2021, France, 99 minutes), Wild Romania (Dan Dinu, Cosmin Dumitrache, 2021, Romania, 123 minutes), and Windshipped (Jon Bowermaster, 2022, USA, 40 minutes). Two shorts programs, one organized by Jane Steuerwald of the Thomas Edison Film Festival, and one by Film Days Artistic Director Peggy Parsons and Programmer Joey Katz, are also included.

A virtual pass is $30, and is good for a household to watch any of the films between Friday, November 18 at 9 am and Sunday, November 20 at 11:59 pm. Once a film is started, viewers will have 24 hours to complete the film. Tickets to screen individual films virtually are $10, and good for a household. Passes and tickets can be purchased at glimmerglassfilmdays.org.

“We are having a great tenth season, with a wonderful group of guest filmmakers and speakers, good conversation about the films and key issues, and a terrific audience,” said Ellen Pope, executive director of Otsego 2000. “We want to extend the Film Days experience to those who could not make it in person with the virtual film festival.”  She noted that filmmaker Peter Hutchison, who presented his film Devil Put the Coal in the Ground, made several presentations to seventh and eighth grade classes at Cooperstown Central School to discuss research, how to tell a story, and writing.

The Film Days companion art exhibition Luminosity/Luminous Streets with light sculptures and video art continues through November 19, at the Smithy, 55 Pioneer Street in Cooperstown, from 12 pm to 4 pm daily, and in 14 storefronts on Main and Pioneer Streets in Cooperstown, from 4:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
