Cooperstown Holiday Stroll
The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, a program of Otsego 2000, will have a special Holiday Market on Tuesday, December 19 from 3 pm – 7 pm. In addition, many Cooperstown retailers will have extended hours that evening to accommodate holiday shoppers.
Vendors featured at the December 19 Farmers’ Market include: Black Willow Pond Farm, Wildwood Woodturning, Girasole Farm, Straight from the Hive, Mountain View Dairy, Sasha Glinski Studio, ARK Floral, Laura’s Chocolates, Tech Tamer Woodworks, Nectar Hills Farm, Empire Natural Foods, Crystal’s Customs, Mimikis Wooly Bears, Dutchayr Fibers, Arabeth Farm, Elk Creek Farm, Traveling Herb Farmer, Chatty Wren Coffee Roasters, Mill Hollow Maple, Middlefield Orchard, Rock Hill Farm, Terracotta Republic, and Origins Café. Dave and Pam Tisch will perform on the Market Stage. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance after 5 pm, after receiving guests at their cottage in Pioneer Park from 3 pm-5 pm.
The Cooperstown Lions Club will be on hand, ready to wrap your gifts with a donation to the SNAP Match program, which offers shoppers using EBT a match of up to $20, extending the impact of their food dollars. So you can get your wrapping done and support giving more neighbors access to fresh local food. The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, which is located at 101 Main Street in Pioneer Alley in Cooperstown, also is open every Saturday in December, 9 am – 2 pm.
When the Farmers’ Market vendors opted to hold a holiday market the week before Christmas, Ellen Pope, executive director of Otsego 2000, reached out to Cooperstown shop owners to see if they wanted to participate as well. “We’re calling it a Holiday Stroll, and welcome everyone to participate in this festive tradition that celebrates local farmers, artisans, makers, and businesses.” She noted that with the Stroll the Streets event organized by the Welcome Home Committee, shoppers have two after-work opportunities to enjoy Main Street shopping this December.
Local shops and galleries participating in the Cooperstown Holiday Stroll on December 19 with extended hours until 7 pm include: Cooperstown Art Association, Willis Monie Books, Bridgette & Main, Kate’s Upstate, J. Gorman Fine Jewelry, Tin Bin Alley, Rudy’s Liquors, The Local Bird, Cooperstown Distillery, Cooperstown Wine & Spirits, Riverwood, Cooper Country Crafts, All About the Girls, Silver Fox, Irwin and Lane, Grand Slam Guitars, and Stagecoach Coffee.
Pope noted that there will be complimentary mulled cider at the Farmers’ Market.
The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, which features farmers, producers, and artisans all located within 50 miles of Cooperstown, is open year-round. Beginning in January, the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market will be open 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays.
