Farmers’ Market offers Summertime Tuesday Hours
The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market will be open on Tuesdays, 12 pm – 5 pm in July, August, and September. The Summer Tuesday Markets are in addition to the Saturday Markets, which run from 9 am to 2 pm.
“The Tuesday Markets provide another opportunity to enjoy and take advantage of summer’s bounty. People who work nearby can stop in on a break and pick up fresh produce, grab lunch, or shop for locally made goods,” says Karrie Larsson, Market Manager at Otsego 2000.
The Tuesday Cooperstown Farmers’ Market features:
Alex’s Picnic,
By the Handful,
Elk Creek Farm,
Gaia’s Breath Farm,
Girasole Farm,
Heller’s Farm,
Mountain View Dairy,
Nectar Hills Farm,
Rock Hill Farm,
Straight from the Hive, and
Skin Biome.
Tuesday Markets will include demonstrations by local nonprofits. The Cornell Cooperative Extension will be cooking recipes using Market produce and meats, and Bassett Healthcare Network will offer bike safety tips and other helpful information.
Four farms will be offering fresh produce each week and there will be several vendors selling farmstead cheese, baked goods, grass-fed meat and charcuterie, local honey, homemade hummus and pesto, native New York State plants, CBD products, and organic skin care.
“Tuesdays are a great opportunity to come and take your time at the Market as it is substantially less crowded than Saturdays,” says Jesse Pascale from Rock Hill Farm. “We are also there for people to catch on their lunch break and for people who are coming just after work.”
Located at 101 Main Street in Pioneer Alley, the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market is open on Saturdays throughout the year. Saturday hours are 9 am - 2 pm, May through December, and 10 am – 2pm January through April. In addition, during July, August, and September, the Market is open on Tuesdays from 12 pm – 5 pm. SNAP/EBT is welcome at every Market. With the support of the Cooperstown Lions Club, the Market offers SNAP Match, providing up to $15 in matching funds when customers shop with SNAP.
