Otsego 2000 awarded NYSCA grant for Film Days
Otsego 2000 announced it received a grant award of $49,500 a year for three years from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). The award will be used for Glimmerglass Film Days, an annual film festival held in Cooperstown each November.
“We are delighted with this award for Glimmerglass Film Days, which brings independent films that explore humanity’s complex relationship with the natural world,” said Ellen Pope, executive director of Otsego 2000. “Film Days also highlights and celebrates Cooperstown’s and the Otsego Lake region’s cultural, natural and historical assets.”
NYSCA Chair Katherine Nicholls said, “On behalf of the entire Council, I congratulate Otsego 2000 on this grant award. Their creative work provides the benefits of the arts to both their community and all of New York. Arts organizations are essential, leading our tourism economy and fueling sectors such as hospitality, transit, and Main Streets across our state.”
Glimmerglass Film Days will be held in multiple Cooperstown, NY venues November 8-13, 2023.
